Authorities in the UAE have sentenced a man to over 20 years in prison and fined him Dh200,000 after he was found guilty of raping and sexually exploiting a boy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kalba public prosecution had referred the accused to the respective court dealing with juvenile cases. The criminal court found him guilty on all charges levelled against him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the UAE Public Prosecution, the victim\u2019s mother had discovered that the accused \u2014 a relative of hers \u2014 had been sexually abusing her son. He had raped him \u201cseveral times\u201d since he was 11 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInvestigations revealed that the accused had threatened [the victim and told him] not to report it. It also revealed that the accused was using drugs and psychotropic substances,\u201d the public prosecution said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public prosecution urged parents and families to pay attention to their children, communicate with them, and listen to them constantly to protect them from harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
