- Tents, medical supplies and food sent through Egypt’s Rafah Border Crossing
DUBAI: The UAE has sent 14 trucks carrying more than 300 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza, including tents, medical supplies, and various food items.
The aid, under the “Gallant Knight 3” humanitarian operation, entered the Gaza Strip through Egypt’s Rafah Border Crossing on Monday.
“This comes as part of UAE’s efforts to support and relieve Palestinian people during their current circumstances,” a statement on WAM news agency said.
The total aid already provided by the UAE so far has exceeded 15,755 tonnes, transported on 163 cargo planes, two ships, and 476 trucks.
The UAE also has a field hospital inside Gaza where 5,123 people have been treated.
The UAE had established six desalination plants with a production capacity of 1.2 million gallons per day for the Gaza population.
Additionally, five automated bakeries were sent to the Egyptian city of Al-Arish in preparation for their entry into the Gaza Strip.
On Sunday, the UAE delivered over 124,000 parcels comprising food, medical supplies, hygiene kits for children and the elderly, lighting projectors, and blankets.
The distribution of parcels include 183 with food, 23 with hygiene kits, 1,040 with heavy winter clothing, 3,402 with undergarments, and 38 with blankets.
