The UAE Meteorology Centre has released its comprehensive summary of the July climate, highlighting significant weather patterns and climatic statistics across the country. July, known for its summer heat, experiences increased temperatures influenced by the extension of thermal lows, notably the Indian monsoon low pressure system.
Weather Patterns:
Throughout July, the eastern mountains and southern regions of the UAE were characterized by cloud cover, attributed to mountainous terrain and high temperatures. Afternoon rains were observed in interior areas, driven by these developing clouds. Additionally, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) impacted parts of the country, particularly in the latter half of the month, leading to convective rainy clouds at times.
Wind Circulations:
The month saw significant variability in wind patterns. Southeasterly winds predominated during the night and morning periods, shifting to northerly winds during the day. Fresh southerly winds occasionally caused blowing dust in the mornings, while fresh northwesterly winds contributed to sporadic blowing and suspended dust.
Humidity and Fog:
Relative humidity levels varied, with increases during early morning hours over certain areas, occasionally resulting in mist or fog formation. July 2023 witnessed the highest frequency of fog occurrences, with 11 instances of fog and 5 misty days reported.
