Geneva: The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor affirmed that 48 hours after the issuance of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) decision, which ordered Israel to take measures to prevent the commission of the crime of genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza Strip, it documented that the Israeli army continued at the same pace to kill civilians, forcibly displace them, and starve them.

The Monitor indicated that it documented the killing of more than 373 Palestinians by the Israeli army, including 345 civilians, in addition to more than 643 injuries, since the ICJ decision was issued.

The Israeli entity continues to ignore the decision of the highest court in the world, and violate its international obligations, including the rules and principles of international law, by insisting on continuing to commit grave violations that equates to war crimes and crimes against humanity, including genocide against the Palestinians, it added.

The Monitor explained that in addition to the non-stop Israeli bombardments, including the destruction of residential homes on the heads of their inhabitants and the forcible killing of displaced people after terrorizing them and responding to illegal Israeli evacuation orders, Israel continues its attack on what remains of the health system in Gaza, besieging and directly targeting hospitals that remained partially operational in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, and targeting them directly, as both Nasser Medical Complex and Al-Amal Hospital affiliated with the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) are close to stopping completely as a result of the siege and repeated targeting.

The Human Rights Monitor said that the Israel entity is still deliberately obstructing the arrival of humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip in general, and placing more stringent restrictions on its entry into the northern Wadi Gaza in particular, where the famine situation worsens 114 days after the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

The Euro-Mediterranean Monitor pointed out that these developments require the international community to expedite the adoption of a binding executive decision for the decision of the ICJ, work on an immediate ceasefire, ensure the protection of civilians and their return to their homes, intensify work by international and UN institutions to monitor and document Israel’s violations of the ICJ decision, and report those violations and disseminate them on the widest scale, so that the Republic of South Africa and the countries supporting the case can submit a detailed and evidence-based report on the grave and widespread violations that continue to be committed against civilians.

The Monitor stressed that the ICJ recent ruling regarding the existence of “reasonable doubt” that Israeli entity is breaking its obligations as a State party to the Genocide Convention, and the practices taking place on the ground require decisive and immediate international pressure in all forms is needed to stop the ongoing Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians and protect them from the threat of genocide.
