Gulf Overseas Exchange Gold Cup concludes at Bangladesh Social Club Oman

Muscat: On the occasion of Victory Day of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Social Club Oman had organised a football tournament in the name “Gulf Overseas Exchange Gold Cup” Football Tournament 2023-2024.

Eight teams from different regions of Oman participated in the Gulf Exchange Gold Cup football tournament this year at the Muscat Club Stadium, Wadi Kabir. The teams are:

Al Heil Ekadosh, Barka Ekadosh, Team Hamriya, Shah Jalal FC, 

Wadi KabirFC, Cox Bazar FC, Oman brother, Muscat FC

Councillor Mohammad Rafiul Islam of Bangladesh Embassy Muscat inaugurated the tournament on Friday, 24th November.

The Deputy Ambassador of Bangladesh, Mrs. Moushimi Rahman was the guest of honour at the final of the tournament. Mrs. Shakunthala, Manager of Abeer Hospital was also present for the final. It was presided over by Club Chairman Sirajul Haque and anchored by Club General Secretary NM Amin. Main sponsor Gulf Overseas Exchange Manager Mr. Masud Rana was also a special guest.

 Club Vice President Rezaul Karim, VP Azimul Hoque Babul Treasurer Maulana Abdul Salam, Joint Secretary Abdul Rahim, Mohd. Shah Jahan, Publicity Secretary Hafez Mohammad Nazim Uddin Chowdhury, Mohsin Sarkar, Ajit Shil, Tawhid, Manik, Jasim were also present.

The event was also attended by prominent people of the community namely Mohd. Noman, Mohd. Shahbuddin, Engineer Mostafa Kamal Nur Hossain Talukder, Gulf Exchange officials and many renowned community leaders.

Full Medical support including ambulance for the whole tournament was provided by Abeer Hospital, Ruwi.

The tournament concluded with the final at 8.30pm at Muscat Club Stadium in presence of thousands football fans. In the final, Barka Ekados defeated Al Heil Ekados in a penalty shootout to win the tournament.

A good number of Bangladesh football fans and family members were watching the matches.
