- Competition is inviting filmmakers to submit short films that include AI-generated content
DUBAI: A new artificial intelligence film festival launched by Expo City Dubai will explore the use of AI in creative storytelling and filmmaking.
The Artificial Intelligence Film Festival, which will run for about six months, is the first event of its kind in the region, Emirates News Agency reported.
It will feature an international competition, film screenings, panel discussions with AI experts and filmmakers, and workshops that will provide insights into the use of AI in film production.
The film competition launched on Tuesday, allowing both professional and amateur filmmakers to submit short films that include AI-generated content. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Feb. 29 next year.
“The first in a long line of initiatives, AIFF will explore the relationship between creativity and technology, human ingenuity and artificial intelligence,” said Marjan Faraidooni, chief of education and culture at Expo City Dubai.
