MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education recently signed an agreement with Zaahib Foods Company (Barzman) to provide services and funding to the Omani School Sports Association (OSSA).
The agreement was signed by Hisham Al Adwani, OSSA vice-chairman and Ahmed Al Hajri, Barzman general manager, in the presence of Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary for Education at the ministry, and OSSA, Fahad Al Mashaikhi, OSSA secretary-general.
The agreement seeks cooperation in holding a school basketball championship, supplying the Omani School Sports Association and its committees with Barzman brand drinking water, and cooperation in implementing the Barzman running race for the students of the first cycle education.
Ambosaidi said: “This agreement comes as part of the strategic direction of the Oman School Sports Association in partnerships, as it has many activities and events. The presence of such partnerships with major companies strengthens and helps in implementation as the school sector is large. We started this partnership last year, and it continues to its second year, and we hope that it will continue for years to come. We also wish success to everyone, the company, and the union’s employees in implementing what was agreed upon.”
Al Hajri said: “In confirmation of the community support strategy in the areas adopted by Zaahib Foods Company, we intend to renew the cooperation agreement with the Omani School Sports Association by implementing a group of sporting events and activities that serve students of different age groups. This is in order to consolidate the concept of healthy lifestyles through sports as a way of life.”
